  1. What is the difference between hardwood and softwood pellets?

    It’s all about quality of the pellet rather than the species. Both species go through the same process and compressed to the same density once pelletized. A quality pellet has a high BTU, low moisture and low ash content.

  2. What are Urban Biofuel Premium Pellets made from?

    Our pellets are made from clean, dry wood reclaimed fiber from lumber companies, such as roof truss and lumber milling companies.

    The pellets are an 80% hardwood – 20% softwood blend.

  4. Are trees cut down to manufacture pellets?

    No – we do not cut down any trees to make pellets.  As it says in the answer to question 2  “our pellets are made from clean, dry wood reclaimed fiber.”
